Actor Sana Makbul battles liver cirrhosis
Sana Makbul, who recently won Bigg Boss OTT 3, has shared that she's now facing advanced liver cirrhosis caused by autoimmune hepatitis. She told Hindustan Times, "I've been living with autoimmune hepatitis for a while now, but recently things got worse. My immune system started attacking my liver more aggressively."
How Sana's condition became public
Sana's condition became public after her friend Aashna posted a hospital photo online. The post revealed that Sana had to step away from work because of a severe flare-up that led to the cirrhosis diagnosis. As Sana put it, "This didn't happen overnight; I've been managing it for a while."
Sana is focusing on getting better
Even with this tough diagnosis, Sana is determined to avoid a liver transplant if possible. "The doctors and I are doing everything we can," she said about her intense new immunotherapy treatment. For now, she's focusing on getting better and hopes to bounce back soon.
