AICWA asks Maharashtra CM to form SIT for Ugale's death
Entertainment
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) is urging the chief minister of Maharashtra to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the death of TV actor Sanchita Ugale.
Known for her roles in Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, Sanchita was found dead at her Mumbai home on June 14, 2026.
Police say Ugale died by suicide
Police say Sanchita died by suicide, and after her father filed a complaint, an accidental death report was registered.
But AICWA is not satisfied: it is calling for a transparent investigation, stressing that real accountability is needed to prevent more tragedies like this in the entertainment industry.
