Film details
'We have challenged each other in many ways...'
The film has been in development for over two years, with Varma and Shah creating a world that blends "military realism, survival horror, and alien mythology."
Shah told Variety India, "The ambition to create something better and bigger every single time with Akshay Sir has been the hallmark of our journey."
"We have challenged each other in many ways to keep pushing ourselves and do better, and this time, the challenge is bigger than ever."
Production team
Film to have international crew on board
The film has roped in Academy Award-nominated creature effects designer Alec Gillis, who has worked on the Alien and Predator franchises.
Gillis has designed the film's central alien along with international technicians including British action director Luke Tumber.
Tumber is designing and directing the action for Samuk to give it a physically demanding action language.
Director's vision
Kumar's collaboration with Varma
The film marks Kumar's collaboration with Varma, who has previously worked on projects like Glory, Gaanth, Shoorveer, Inside Edge S03, Sanak, and FootFairy.
The project is being mounted as a large-scale pan-Indian theatrical with global production ambitions.
