'GoT' final season release date to be announced today
Game of Thrones on HBO is probably the most popular show globally. Now the final season is coming and will tell us who gets to sit on the Iron Throne, following the turmoil in fictional Westeros.
We had reported that HBO confirmed the final season would air in April. Now it appears that HBO might announce the exact airing date today.
Tune into HBO to know the release date of 'GoT'
HBO will announce the official release date of Game of Thrones today, January 13, before the pilot of True Detective Season 3 is aired.
While we get hyped about the release date, if we are really lucky, we might even see some new footage from the upcoming season.
However, it is likely HBO will hold back footage for a separate reveal, for prolonged excitement.
Conversational tweet is HBO's way of announcing the exciting news
HBO tweeted a conversation between someone titled boss and presumably the other person was an employee.
The exchange saw the employee asking the boss when the premiere was. While the boss told the employee when they could find out officially, the boss refused to reveal the date beforehand.
The conversation ends funnily as the employee laments the boss's refusal to reveal the date immediately.

Earlier footage revealed exciting new meeting
As we had reported, HBO has already revealed some new footage from the upcoming final season.
Keeping their promise of making prominent characters meet for the first time, the footage showed Daenerys Targaryen meet Sansa Stark, as the Lady of Winterfell agrees to hand over the castle to Daenerys and her army.
Joining forces, the Targaryen and Stark army will face the White Walkers.
Possible premiere date for 'Game of Thrones' final season
Let us pitch in our guesses about the release date, beforehand. We feel the final season will air on April 28 (2 days after Avengers: Endgame premiere, that's right!).
April 28 is Easter Sunday, and HBO has aired new GoT episodes on Easter Sundays before.
Further, True Detective Season 3 ends on April 21, so the following weekend could see the premiere of GoT.
