James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash is set to premiere, and all eyes are on its box office numbers when it hits US theaters December 19.
The film's early success will decide if Cameron keeps going with his five-movie plan or if this will be the last one.
Cameron's plans for the future
Cameron called the future of Avatar "a coin toss," saying, "This can be the last one."
He's not planning to spend his whole career on Pandora, though—he wants to step back a bit while still directing and working on other projects.

Beyond Avatar, Cameron has a 3D Billie Eilish concert film coming up, plus he's writing Ghost of Hiroshima and developing a new Terminator movie (without Schwarzenegger).
