Bhatt's 'Haunted 3D' nets ₹12.22 cr despite release setbacks
Vikram Bhatt's Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past pulled in ₹12.22 crore in just five days, including Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, Manoj Bajpayee starrer Governer, and Kangana Ranaut's Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.
Not bad for a film that nearly didn't make it to theaters.
Bhatt says arrests caused delays
The journey wasn't easy: Bhatt shared that 10 days into the shoot, money ran out, forcing the team to borrow money to keep going.
Things got even tougher when he and his wife were arrested over what he says were false allegations, causing a long delay and more debt.
Even after shooting wrapped up, post-production was hit by VFX issues and legal problems just two days before release, which meant fewer theaters showed the film.
Still, Haunted 3D managed to reach audiences and surprised everyone with its success.
