According to a recent survey by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) and Rediffusion's Red Lab, Shah Rukh Khan is the leading contender to replace Bachchan. The survey, which was conducted on 768 respondents in Hindi-speaking regions, also named Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mahendra Singh Dhoni as strong competitors.

Khan, who hosted the third season of KBC back in 2007, got 63% support in the latest survey. Although the ratings dipped during his previous stint, he has now become a fan-favorite to continue Bachchan's legacy. Interestingly, Aishwarya, known for her oratorical skills, turned out to be a strong contender with 51% of the survey respondents backing her as their preferred choice. Dhoni, with his massive popularity, got 37% votes.
