Bollywood's recent flops blamed on outdated stories and star power
Entertainment
Bollywood is in a rough patch right now: after the hit Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, at least seven consecutive box-office failures like Chanda Mera Dil and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do just didn't land with audiences, even with big stars and directors.
Experts say it's because stories feel outdated and star power isn't enough anymore.
As producer Rajesh R Nair puts it, you cannot make a Hindi film with a 1990s story and expect it to click with audiences.
Regional films draw audiences
While Bollywood struggles, regional movies like Karuppu and Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past are pulling crowds thanks to creative storytelling and new ideas.
It's clear viewers want something different, so Bollywood might need to rethink its approach if it wants to bounce back.
