Captain America or Steve Rogers is one of the most recognizable superheroes of Marvel. He has enjoyed a terrific run in the comics, from the iconic time he punched Hitler to standing up to Thanos in Infinity War. This beacon of hope got special abilities due to Super Soldier Serum that modified his body. Here are five weird facts about Captain America's body.

Serious strength: Holding a falling building

Captain America is stronger than average humans, that is beyond doubt. His strength is most evident during combat when he throws punches. However, a true indicator of his strength comes from one instance in comics where he held a falling building. While his shield was a huge factor in protecting him from harm, Cap's strength saved the lives of those who were around him.

    Bottoms up: Cannot get drunk

Captain America cannot unwind with a glass of alcohol because of his body. The Super Soldier Serum gives him extremely high metabolism, which makes his body burn off alcohol much faster than normal humans. Thus Cap could party as long and hard as he wanted to and still emerge sober. We don't quite know if that is a strength or a weakness.

Bite me: Immune to vampire infection

Captain America has had his fair share of weird comics (one which included super meth!). However, this issue stands out where Cap was bitten by a vampire. Although falling prey to the vampire venom for a while, he soon found out that the Super Soldier Serum in his blood helped him curb his vampiric instincts. The serum helped him fight the vampire venom.

Age is just a number: Super Soldier Serum tricks

Age is just a number really for Captain America. Despite being on ice for several years, the hero emerged without any sign of aging. This is because of the serum which prevents his body from suffering the negative effects of aging. Cap can go through cell regeneration which gives him healing powers and essentially prevents him from growing old at a normal pace.

Lead to head: Cap comes back from a headshot

Speaking of Cap's healing powers, one instance showed just how strong the power is. Cap can take a bullet to the head and still come back alive. While his regeneration powers are nowhere close to Deadpool or Wolverine's, the Super Soldier Serum definitely speeds it up. Cap once took a headshot meant for his friend Falcon and came back to life in 12 minutes.
