What's the story

The controversy surrounding the popular show India's Got Latent has intensified, prompting host Samay Raina to take down all existing episodes from YouTube. The decision came after widespread public outrage and legal scrutiny over guest Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial "parental sex" remarks on the show. Amid this chaos, fans are left wondering what will happen to unreleased episodes featuring guests like Mallika Sherawat, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Bhuvan Bam.

Episode compilation

Unaired episodes' details surfaced on social media

An Instagram user recently shared a compilation video of all the unaired episodes. The video revealed that influencer Javed, filmmaker Farah Khan with comedian Tanmay Bhat, actor Sherawat with Bigg Boss winner Munawar Faruqui, cricketer Chahal, and veteran actors Dalip Tahil and Ashish Vidyarthi had already recorded their episodes. Another anticipated guest was comedian-actor Bam whose episode was reportedly in the pipeline.

Fan reactions

Fans expressed disappointment over deleted episodes

Fans of India's Got Latent have expressed their disappointment and anger over the removal of the episodes. One fan wrote, "Kam se kam OG episodes toh release hone dete bewafa logon (At least they could have released the original episodes, these betrayers!)." Another one lamented, "I know this will not come, but I will still wait." Meanwhile, one user humorously suggested time travel as a solution to remove just the one controversial scene.

Host's statement

Raina broke his silence on the controversy

Addressing the growing controversy, Raina posted a statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. "Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel." "My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you," he wrote.

Legal action

YouTube removed controversial episode amid legal proceedings

The crackdown on India's Got Latent intensified when YouTube removed the controversial episode on orders of the central government. The show had aired 18 episodes before being taken down. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police have launched their investigation, recording statements of four people including social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid) who also appeared on the now-deleted episode. With legal proceedings underway, the fate of India's Got Latent and its remaining content remains uncertain.

Investigation update

Maharashtra Cyber Department summoned over 40 persons

The cyber police had registered an FIR and issued notices to the guests and judges who appeared on the previous episode of the reality show. The FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. However, no arrests have been made so far.
