Born on October 30, 1952, Indian actor Dalip Tahil is best known for his performances in a negative role. A graduate of Aligarh Muslim University, Tahil began his acting career with the 1974 feature film ‘Ankur’. His breakthrough came after he appeared in a negative role in the movie ‘Shaan’ (1980). Though his role was small, his performance was widely acclaimed. Some of his acclaimed movies include ‘Gandhi’ (1982), ‘Aaj Ki Awaaz’ (1984), ‘Aakhree Raasta’ (1986), ‘Jalwa’ (1987), ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ (1988), ‘Ram Lakhan’ (1989), ‘Tridev’ (1989), ‘Saudagar’ (1991), ‘Vishwatma’ (1992), ‘Baazigar’ (1993), ‘Raja’ (1995), ‘Gupt: The Hidden Truth’ (1997), ‘Ishq’ (1997), ‘Judwaa’ (1997), ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ (2000), and ‘Soldier’ (1998), amongst others. As of 2021, he has appeared in over 40 Bollywood movies. He began his TV career with ‘Buniyaad’ (1986), and has appeared in four TV shows, and five web series as of 2021. He is internationally known for his theater performance in the musical ‘Bombay Dreams’ which is a production by AR Rahman.
