'Get a life, guys': Sanjay Gupta faces backlash for praising 'Dhurandhar'
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta gave a big shoutout to Aditya Dhar's new movie Dhurandhar, calling it a "ONE MAN SHOW" and saying he wasn't interested in all the "propaganda bullsh*t" after catching it on IMAX.
But his praise sparked online abuse, with people misreading his comment.
What went down?
After the backlash, Gupta hopped back on X (formerly Twitter) to clear things up—he meant the film doesn't have propaganda.
Frustrated by the hate, he wrote, "I can't believe the whole lot of idiots abusing me for this tweet about #Dhurandhar. What I mean is that I don't think there is any propaganda in the film. Get a life guys."
He also made sure to highlight how much he enjoyed the film's fun vibe, music, and team effort.
How's Dhurandhar doing?
Starring Ranveer Singh as an undercover agent busting terror networks in Karachi (2007-2008), Dhurandhar is crushing it at the box office—₹372.75 crore worldwide in its first week! It's now Bollywood's fourth highest-grosser of 2025.
Gupta also gave props to producer Jyoti Deshpande and Jio Studios CEO Deepak Sharma for their solid support and smart distribution moves.
