'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke' Kemmu recalls Bhatt's samurai promise
Kunal Kemmu recently shared a funny childhood story from the sets of Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. At just seven, he was stuck choosing between a school picnic and finishing his shoot.
Director Mahesh Bhatt sweetened the deal by promising him a popular Samurai video game if he skipped the picnic for work.
Kemmu's 'Vibe' hits theaters September 18
Kemmu admits he regretted missing out when he watched his classmates leave for the picnic, saying, "It was the worst deal I made because my school was visible from my home, and the next morning I could see the bus getting full with kids, and they waved at me, asking, 'Tu nahi aa raha (You aren't coming?).'"
Since then, Kemmu's journey has taken him from child actor in films like Zakhm to returned as a lead with Kalyug in 2005.
Now, he's stepping behind the camera: his directorial debut Madgaon Express came out in 2024, and his next film Vibe (with Preity Zinta) hits theaters September 18.
