Khan says 'Agent Vinod' failed due to execution not vanity
Saif Ali Khan got candid about why his film Agent Vinod didn't click at the box office.
He told Variety India that while the movie started strong, it lost steam because of how it was made, not just because of any personal vanity.
Saif admitted, "But my point is: it was vanity. I was excited to do that. I made the film for myself, but it did open well. So its failure was not because it was a vain idea."
Parimoo alleges interference on 'Agent Vinod'
Saif pointed out that Agent Vinod struggled with execution and went off track: director Sriram Raghavan even joked he put "too many toppings on the pizza."
Actor Lalit Parimoo also blamed creative interference by Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan for diluting Raghavan's vision.
Even Raghavan agreed he focused too much on action over story, which left the movie feeling messy despite its cool concept.
