Lockhart's life and career
Lockhart started acting as a kid in New York City and became a TV icon with roles that made her a household name.
She earned two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—one for film and one for television—and even won a Tony Award back in 1947.
Besides starring in major series, she popped up on shows like "Bewitched" and "Grey's Anatomy."
Off-screen, she was just as passionate about journalism and politics, leaving behind an inspiring legacy both inside and outside Hollywood.
