Macklemore says Madison Square Garden rejected his Free Palestine tour
Entertainment
Macklemore shared that major US venues, including Madison Square Garden, turned down his Free Palestine tour, which aimed to raise funds for Palestinian causes.
The tour wrapped up in Europe, with stops in Dublin, Paris, and London.
This follows him being dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour earlier this year over his pro-Palestine stance.
Macklemore rejected by 9 US venues
Nine US venues rejected Macklemore's bookings, a first in his over 20-year career.
Madison Square Garden's team said it was due to scheduling and called him "not an arena-level act."
Macklemore isn't backing down; he plans to keep supporting Palestinian organizations and called out how powerful interests often decide which causes get a platform.
