McKellen yelled 'Mar-a-Lago' to channel Trump in Rome 'Avengers: Doomsday'
Entertainment
Sir Ian McKellen just shared a fun behind-the-scenes moment from Avengers: Doomsday: he used Donald Trump as his inspiration for Magneto's big angry scene.
At a Rome event, McKellen said when the directors asked him to show pure hatred, he yelled "Mar-a-Lago," Trump's famous Florida estate, to really get into character.
McKellen used Trump criticism as fuel
McKellen has never been shy about criticizing Trump, once calling him "an absolute bewilderment" and "one of the worst public speakers" he's seen. Still, he turned those feelings into acting fuel for this Marvel role.
Avengers: Doomsday drops December 18, 2026 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, Chris Hemsworth, and Paul Rudd, so it's definitely one to watch out for.
