Model arrested for extorting ₹30L from lawyer, threatening to leak pics

A 28-year-old model, Parul Rana, has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly extorting over ₹30 lakh from a senior lawyer she met in May last year.
Things escalated after a trip to Bali together, where Rana is said to have demanded money and, after he declined to pay, threatened to leak private photos.
Her bail plea was rejected, leading to her arrest.

Family and associate also under investigation

Police say Rana's parents, sister, and an associate joined in on the threats—pressuring the lawyer with legal action and public shaming unless more money was paid.
After months of stress, the lawyer finally went to the police.
Now, investigators are digging into everyone's role as Rana remains in custody.
