Mumbai plans global tribute for tabla legend Zakir Hussain

Mumbai is set to honor legendary tabla maestro Zakir Hussain with a massive two-day event, Maestro Forever, on December 14 and 15, 2025—marking his first death anniversary.
Hosted by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), the tribute will bring together over 50 artists from around the world who've been influenced by his music.

The NCPA has been special to him since his first performance there in 1969 with his father—making this tribute feel especially heartfelt.
