In an exclusive revelation, India Today has confirmed that popular television actor Nia Sharma will be a contestant on the show this time. This development comes after several years of the show being offered to Sharma, but things never materializing until now. A source close to the show shared further details.
'Nia was finally ready to get locked inside...'
The source said, "Nia was finally ready to get herself locked inside the house and signed the dotted lines a couple of days ago. Along with her, the team is also quite excited about having her on board." Before BB, Sharma had participated in the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 8, where she was a finalist. She later took part in Khatron Ke Khiladi - Made in India during the pandemic and emerged as the winner.
Sharma is currently a part of 'Laughter Chefs'
In 2022, Sharma was a contestant on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10. Currently, she is featured on Laughter Chefs, a comedy-cooking show on Colors, where she is paired with comedian Sudesh Lehri. Hosted by Bharti Singh, Laughter Chefs includes six celebrity pairings competing in culinary challenges. The show also features Ankita Lokhande and her husband Vicky Jain, Karan Kundrra, Aly Goni, Jannat Zubair, and Krushna Abhishek with his wife Kashmera, among others.
Rumored contestants and 'seniors' for 'Bigg Boss 18'
Apart from Sharma, TV actors Zaan Khan, Anjali Anand, Chahat Pandey, Splitsvilla fame Kashish Kapoor, Digvijay Rathee, and Stree 2's 'Sarkata' Sunil Kumar are rumored to be joining Bigg Boss 18. Reports suggest that former contestants Munawar Faruqui, Manisha Rani, and Elvish Yadav have been approached to join as 'seniors' or 'mentors.' BB16's Abdu Rozik is also expected to co-host some special segments with Salman Khan.
