'Don't believe anything you read': Nora denies drug syndicate links
What's the story
Actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has denied any involvement in a drug syndicate linked to the underworld. Her name was mentioned in connection with a major drug racket busted by the Mumbai Police, allegedly involving Shraddha Kapoor and Alishah Parkar, nephew of Dawood Ibrahim. Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, a drug trafficker deported from the UAE, recently revealed that he supplied drugs to high-profile rave parties. The operation was reportedly overseen by fugitive drug kingpin Salim Dola and spanned numerous exclusive parties.
Fatehi's statement
'I don't go to parties...don't believe anything you read'
Fatehi took to Instagram Stories on Saturday to issue a firm statement distancing herself from the allegations. "FYI I DONT go to parties... I'm constantly on flights... I'm a workaholic... I don't associate myself with people like that... Don't believe anything you read!" "It seems like my name is an easy target, but I won't allow it to happen this time."
Fatehi's warning
'This will come with a heavy, heavy price!'
Fatehi further warned against the misuse of her name, saying, "Please refrain from using my name in situations that have absolutely NOTHING to do with me! This will come with a heavy, heavy price!" Her reaction came after reports claimed the remand copy explicitly listed her name among others mentioned by the accused.

Ongoing probe
Investigation into drug syndicate's operations continues
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Mumbai Crime Branch are now examining the alleged drug syndicate's operations. Joint Commissioner of Police, Mumbai Crime Branch, Lakhmi Gautam, earlier said, "Certain revelations have been made to us and we are verifying facts." The Anti-Narcotics Cell is now investigating who else participated in this racket and whether other drug traffickers organized similar parties for the celebrities named by Shaikh.
