₹252cr drugs case: Orry misses police questioning, seeks another date
What's the story
Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, was summoned by the Mumbai Police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in connection with a ₹252 crore drug case. Reports suggest he was supposed to appear before the ANC's Ghatkopar unit at 10:00am on Thursday for questioning but failed to do so. Now, he has sought a postponement of his appearance due to his absence from the city. As per CNBCTV18, he has asked for a date after November 25.
Background
The summons comes after Lavish's revelations
The summons came after Mohammed Salim Shaikh, alias Lavish, a drug supplier recently deported from Dubai, revealed information about a drug syndicate. Shaikh allegedly disclosed that their cartel, led by fugitive Salim Dola, hosted Bollywood celebrities at drug-fueled parties. Orry was among the celebrities named by Lavish. The police are probing these claims and have summoned Orry to record his statement. An official told the Indian Express, "We have called him to record his statement in connection with the allegations."

The case involves a massive drug seizure
The case dates back to March 2024 when police seized 126.14kg of mephedrone from a manufacturing unit at a farm in Sangli district. The drugs were valued at around ₹252 crore. Shaikh is accused of coordinating drug peddlers and supplying raw materials for drug production in multiple states including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Rajasthan.
Past incidents
Orry's previous legal troubles
This isn't the first time Orry has found himself in a legal mess.
