₹252cr drugs case: How Orry is involved
What's the story
Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, aka Orry, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police in connection with a ₹252 crore drug case. The Anti-Narcotics Cell's Ghatkopar unit has asked him to appear for questioning on Thursday morning, reported ANI. Cops want to see if Orry can give them more information regarding the drug syndicate. This development comes after Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, an alleged drug dealer who was deported from Dubai last month, named several celebrities during his interrogation.
Case background
What led to the summons?
The case dates back to March 2024, when authorities seized 126.14kg of mephedrone, also known as MD, from a manufacturing unit on a farm in Maharashtra's Sangli district. The drugs were valued at around ₹252 crore. This factory bust came after a drug probe that began with an August 2022 arrest of a Nagpada resident. Shaikh was arrested by the city police and is currently in ANC's custody. He allegedly organized rave parties for celebrities as well as gangsters.

High-profile individuals allegedly involved in rave parties
The Mumbai Crime Branch's Anti-Narcotics Cell has revealed that several high-profile individuals attended the lavish parties organized by Shaikh. These include actors Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, and her brother Siddharth Kapoor. Film producers Abbas-Mustan, rapper Loka, and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique were also allegedly present at these parties, alongside Orry. Shaikh is reportedly a close aide of fugitive drug kingpin Salim Dola, a key member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang.

How police tracked down Shaikh
Deputy Commissioner of Police (ANC) Navnath Dhavale revealed that Shaikh's involvement came to light during an investigation into the seizure of 995g of mephedrone worth ₹2 crore. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him, leading to his arrest in the UAE a few weeks ago. The city police then coordinated with their sister agencies for his deportation. Shaikh is reportedly linked to at least four drug cases.
