What's the story

Sunny Deol's much-anticipated action thriller Parshuram, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, has been postponed indefinitely. The decision comes after Bhat signed on for his Hollywood directorial debut with Deadlocked, an action thriller starring Jamie Foxx. A source told Bollywood Hungama that the delay is because Bhat will not be able to take on any new projects until Deadlocked is finished.

Project delay

Producers considering whether to wait or hire new director

With Bhat's Hollywood commitment, Parshuram has been pushed to 2027. The producers are now contemplating their next steps.

They are reportedly considering whether to wait for Bhat's return or hire a new director for the film.

Meanwhile, Mythri Movie Makers is also considering fast-tracking Jaat 2 as an alternative project. However, these discussions are still in the early stages, and no final decision has been made yet.

Career updates

Deol's upcoming films and details about 'Deadlocked'

Despite the delay in Parshuram, Deol has a packed schedule.

He will be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's Batwara 1947 on August 14, followed by Shashank Udapurkar's Gabru.

He also plays Lord Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, which releases on November 6 this year.

On the other hand, Bhat's Deadlocked follows a grieving former Marine who is forced back into action when a high-profile trial turns into a deadly hostage crisis.

The film will premiere globally on Prime Video.
