President Murmu kicks off Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav 2025 in Hyderabad
President Droupadi Murmu opened the second Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Hyderabad, in November 2025.
Running from November 22-30, 2025, this festival is all about celebrating Western India's vibrant culture—think traditional crafts, music, and dance from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Goa, and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
What's cool this year?
Around 82 handicraft artisans and 56 handloom artisans will be showcasing items such as Kutch Bandhani and Kolhapuri chappals.
Over 250 performers—including Padma Shri awardees—are bringing folk vibes to the stage.
There are state pavilions packed with regional specialties like Kota Doria sarees and Paithani sarees.
Fresh twists: food demos & folk beats
The new 'Pashchimalap' segment spotlights folk acts like Dhol-Tasha drumming and Kalbelia dance.
Plus, there's a studio kitchen for live cooking demos (yes, you can watch local dishes being made), a literary corner with Sahitya Akademi winners, and even a section for GI-tagged products.
Free entry—just register and walk in
Entry is totally free if you register online or at the venue.
Last year saw over 1.5 lakh visitors; this time they're expecting another huge turnout.
The festival runs daily from 10am to 8pm (last entry at 7pm), so there's plenty of time to soak it all in.
