Ranveer's 'Dhurandhar' is now 2025's biggest overseas hit
What's the story
Ranveer Singh's latest film, Dhurandhar, has reportedly become the highest-grossing Indian release overseas in 2025. The Aditya Dhar directorial surpassed Rajinikanth's Coolie in just 17 days of its release. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned around ₹186cr in overseas markets so far, beating Coolie's lifetime overseas collection of ₹180.5cr.
Record-breaking performance
'Dhurandhar' on track to cross ₹200cr overseas
The success of Dhurandhar has made it the biggest Indian blockbuster outside the domestic market this year. The film is now on track to cross the ₹200cr overseas mark, a first for Singh. Trade sources had predicted a strong run for the film, but its international momentum exceeded expectations. One trade source told India Today that while they were "bullish on the film," they didn't expect it to become this big internationally.
Domestic success
'Dhurandhar' continues to dominate domestic box office
Dhurandhar's success isn't limited to international markets. The film earned ₹34.25cr in India on its third Saturday, followed by an even stronger ₹38.5cr on Sunday. This pushed its domestic total to ₹555.75cr in 17 days. The film has crossed the ₹800cr mark globally and is nearing the lifetime worldwide collection of Kantara: The Legend - Chapter 1, which earned around ₹852cr earlier this year.
Future prospects
'Dhurandhar' sets sights on ₹1,000cr global mark
Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is now eyeing the coveted ₹1,000cr global mark. With no comparable action release set to challenge its numbers, the film is likely to end 2025 as the undisputed box-office champion. Sacnilk noted that Dhurandhar has delivered "one of the most formidable overseas performances ever by a Hindi-language action thriller."
