Rob Reiner's son charged with parents' murders, remains in solitary

Nick Reiner, 32 and son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special allegation of using a knife after his parents were found dead in their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025.
Both had multiple stab wounds and were discovered by their daughter Romy.
Nick was taken into custody soon after and is now being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

What's happening now?

Nick is in solitary confinement at Twin Towers Correctional Facility, under suicide watch with no phone or visitor privileges.
He appeared in court on December 17, where the District Attorney said they may seek the death penalty or life without parole.
The next hearing is set for January 7, 2026.
