'Rocky Aur Rani' actor reveals Dharmendra's 'huge influence' on family

Actor Harman Singha, who recently starred in The Family Man 3, has spoken about his experience of working with the late Dharmendra in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, who played the older version of Kanwal Randhawa. In an interview with Zoom, he said that the legendary actor was a "huge influence" on him growing up. Singha played the young version of Randhawa in the film.

Singha revealed that his father's family only recognized two names, Dharmendra and Dara Singh. "He was a big influence on my family. Rannvijay (Singha, his brother) still mimics Dharamji's character from Sholay," he said. "I was just happy to hold his hand, get a hug from him, and take his blessings." He also recalled shooting a scene with Dharmendra where the camera transitions from him to the veteran actor for an age transformation sequence.

Singha also shared how he was cast for the film. He revealed that Dharmendra had initially wanted to see who would play his younger self on-screen. "They auditioned many people. Shanoo Sharma, casting director, called me and offered the role." "She said even though it's three or four minutes in the film, it is important and I should do it."
