Spotlight on 'Chal Mera Putt 4' following 'Sardarji 3' controversy
Pakistani comedian Iftikhar Thakur stirred up controversy after making harsh anti-India comments on a talk show, saying, "If you come through the air, you'll be blown away in the wind. If you come through the sea, you'll be drowned in water. If you come by land, you'll be buried."
His remarks came after the Pahalgam terror attack and quickly drew backlash from Indian Punjabi actors and filmmakers.
Pakistani artists banned in India
Thakur argued that Pakistani actors are crucial for Punjabi films' success, but Indian writer Rakesh Dhawan disagreed—pointing out that only movies featuring both of them have done well.
Well-known actors like Binnu Dhillon and Gurpreet Ghuggi are now backing a ban on Pakistani artists in response to rising tensions and concerns over cultural propaganda.
'Chal Mera Putt 4' release uncertain
Thakur is famous for his role as Chaudhary Shamsher in the popular "Chal Mera Putt" series.
With "Chal Mera Putt 4" set to release globally on August 1, its future is now uncertain as the film relies heavily on Indo-Pak collaboration—a partnership now under serious strain.
