Sunny Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi are reuniting after three decades for Batwara 1947, earlier titled Lahore 1947. The film also stars Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi. According to Firstpost, the teaser was supposed to be released on Monday, coinciding with the release anniversaries of Gadar and Lagaan. However, it is now likely that it will be unveiled on June 17.

Batwara 1947 is scheduled to hit theaters on August 14, a day ahead of Independence Day. It marks the first collaboration between Deol and Aamir Khan Productions. It also features Ali Fazal and Karan Deol in key roles. The film is an adaptation of the popular play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya O Jamya E Nai Batwara, set against the backdrop of Partition.
