Set in the early 1990s, Dorothy narrates the tale of Karthi and Subbu, two boys navigating a harsh landscape of rural Tamil Nadu.
The narrative takes an unexpected turn when misfortune befalls Dorothy (Keerthy Suresh), a member of their household who has always been kind to them.
The film explores themes of friendship, prejudice, and human connection against the backdrop of "rigid patriarchal hierarchies and everyday violence."

Music and release
Film's soundtrack was performed live recently
The film's music, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, has added another layer of depth to the narrative.
The 18-track OST was recently performed live in Chennai, with musicians playing the Dorothy score for nearly 40 minutes nonstop.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain in association with Dhammam Films, Dorothy is set to hit theaters on September 25.
