'The India Story: Slow Poison in Progress' faces legal notice
The teaser for The India Story: Slow Poison In Progress, starring Shreyas Talpade and Kajal Aggarwal, is in hot water after a legal notice claimed it unfairly paints India's agriculture, dairy, and poultry sectors in a bad light.
Filed by businessman Bhavesh Sodha, proprietor of Agri Business Centre, on June 15, the complaint says the teaser spreads misleading claims about pesticides, milk adulteration, and harmful farming methods.
Sodha asks CBFC not certify film
One scene showing a syringe injected into a dead chicken was called out as "scientifically impossible," with Sodha arguing that such images hurt millions working in farming.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has been asked not to certify the film unless these issues are fixed or backed by real data.
Zee Studios, MIG Production & Studios LLP, and the filmmakers have seven days to respond or risk legal action, and possibly having the teaser pulled offline.
