Vogel says she distanced herself from Panettiere over Hickerson concerns
Lesley Vogel, Hayden Panettiere's mother, opened up on Good Morning America about stepping back from her daughter a year before Hayden's death.
She said the distance was due to worries about Hayden's troubled relationship with Brian Hickerson, who has been accused of domestic violence.
Reflecting on the loss, Vogel shared, "I did not by any stretch of the imagination think that this was gonna happen."
Panettiere death ruled not suspicious
Hayden died on August 16 at age 36; authorities are still investigating but have ruled out foul play or trauma, with dispatch audio pointing to a possible overdose or cardiac arrest.
Vogel also addressed criticism of how she mourns, saying after losing both Hayden and her son Jansen: "You don't have a right to tell me how I mourn the loss of my second child."
