Fake GTA 6 leak hides a virus inside

A malicious version of the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has been spotted online. The fake file, with a size of 113GB, is being shared across various torrent sites. However, it was reportedly analyzed as not authentic and instead filled with malware. The file was highlighted by X user @GTAGolden_ who urged their followers to "take one for the team" and verify its authenticity.

Another X user, @Aidas29506493, claimed to have reverse-engineered the file and found it "fully fake and full of viruses."
Further analysis by internet sleuths reportedly suggests that the massive ISO is mostly made up of junk data, with a 50KB virus.
The malware could harm your device if you download this fake version of GTA 6.
Leak campaign
GTA 6 leaks continue ahead of extended look release
The fake file comes as Rockstar deals with another leak campaign ahead of its planned August 27 release of an extended GTA 6 look on Netflix.
The leaker, Cyberleek, has shared gameplay clips and the game's Leonidas map in protest against Rockstar's digital pre-order plans.
They have threatened to continue these leaks unless the publisher issues a public apology and promises "to be better."
