Air India launches Easy Connect from Varanasi on June 25
Air India just rolled out Easy Connect, a new service that lets passengers on select flights finish check-in and immigration right at their starting airport.
Kicking off in Varanasi on June 25, this move is meant to make those tricky international layovers at Delhi way smoother, especially for folks connecting with less than four hours between flights.
The plan is to bring Easy Connect to more tier-two and tier-three cities soon.
AI11xx short layovers use DigiYatra
If you're flying AI11xx series and your layover is under four hours, you get the fast lane: just register on DigiYatra if you're an Indian passport holder, keep the app active, and upload your boarding pass after check-in.
For longer layovers, you'll still need to follow regular procedures at the hub.
Heads up: web check-in isn't available for these flights, and some domestic legs might operate from international terminals.
