Ancient relic unearthed at Ayodhya's Ram Temple
A rare statue of a female deity—possibly Durga—standing on two lions has been found during digs at Kuber Tila, Ayodhya.
Dating back to the 6th-9th centuries CE, it's the latest in a series of finds showing just how deep Ayodhya's religious roots run.
TL;DR
Evidence of continuous habitation since 3rd century BCE
This isn't just about one statue.
Archeologists have uncovered terracotta figurines, copper pieces, and ancient building remains from as far back as the 3rd century BCE—all stacked beneath the city.
It's proof that Ayodhya has been buzzing with culture for over 3,600 years.
Discoveries to be displayed in museum
All these discoveries are being carefully preserved and will soon be on display in a museum inside the temple complex.
The goal: make sure everyone can see and appreciate how rich—and old—Ayodhya's heritage really is.
