Around 30 Omkar Chemical Company workers in Ujjain lose hearing
India
Around 30 young workers at Omkar Chemical Company in Ujjain say they've lost most of their hearing after long-term exposure to chemicals on the job.
Many first noticed ringing in their ears and irritated eyes, but things got worse.
Some now rely on hearing aids and are struggling to find other work.
Investigation underway, manager M Mohan denies
The workers have filed complaints and an official investigation is underway, but they feel little has changed so far.
The company's manager, M Mohan, insists Omkar did nothing wrong and says medical help was offered but not accepted. He also points out that no other employees have reported similar issues.
Meanwhile, affected families are still waiting for answers and support.
