Assam government seeks Singapore's help in Zubeen Garg case

India

The Assam government is turning to Singapore for legal support as it investigates the death of popular singer Zubeen Garg.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said they've requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to activate a treaty with Singapore, hoping this will help get answers and possibly bring the accused back if needed.
The Special Investigation Team, led by Special DGP M P Gupta, is handling the case after Garg drowned in Singapore on September 19, 2025.

Meanwhile, here's what his wife said

Garg's wife, Garima Saikia Garg, is calling for a full investigation and wants accountability from everyone who was there when he drowned.
She mentioned that although Zubeen had his medications with him, he never brought up any yacht trip in their last chat.
The family says these unanswered questions need real attention to ensure justice is served.
