At Jantar Mantar, students protest NEET paper leak, demand accountability
On Saturday, students and supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar to protest the NEET exam paper leak and other irregularities.
Called by Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke, they were asked to bring thali and chammach (plates and spoons) as a symbol of protest against the government.
Protesters called for the National Testing Agency (NTA) to be held accountable and even demanded Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
Protesters question outsourcing to NTA
Protesters questioned why the government keeps outsourcing exams to an agency that isn't answerable to Parliament.
Many traveled from states like Maharashtra and Bihar, showing how widespread the anger is.
18-year-old Hunar Jain shared that her friend felt so let down by the leak she doesn't want to take exams anymore.
Others like Gautam Babu criticized NTA's technical glitches excuses, while Mumbai's Neil Khopkar pointed out how these issues are widening the gap between private and public education across India.
