Baba Ramdev in Karnal defends 'Vande Mataram' not as deity
India
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has spoken out in support of the national song Vande Mataram, pushing back against claims that it promotes Hindu deity worship.
At an event in Karnal, he said these criticisms come from a lack of understanding about Sanskrit and Indian culture.
For him, Bharat Mata stands for India's spirit, knowledge, duty, faith, and devotion, not just religious symbolism.
Ramdev suggests synchronized elections, education reform
Ramdev explained that Bharat Mata isn't about worshiping gods or temples but is more about seeing the country as our shared purpose and responsibility.
He also called for fairer politics, saying protests should only involve adults, and suggested big reforms like "one nation, one education" and synchronized elections to help schools focus more on learning.
