Balaramapuram murder: Mother's involvement under investigation
A two-year-old girl, Devendhu, was found dead in a well near her home in Balaramapuram, Kerala.
At first, police arrested her uncle Harikumar for murder after he confessed to throwing her into the well.
But things took a twist when Harikumar changed his story and accused his own sister—Devendhu's mother, Sreethu—of being behind the crime.
Case remains wide open as police dig deeper
Harikumar's statements have been all over the place, so police are treating both him and Sreethu as suspects now.
They've paused filing charges while they seek court permission to run polygraph tests on both.
Since Harikumar's mental health is in question, he'll also get a psychological evaluation as authorities try to figure out what really happened.
