Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally surpasses 2000

Most of the latest cases popped up in Mumbai (19), Pune (11), and Nagpur (7).
Since January, over 23,000 tests have been done across the state to track and control outbreaks.

Mumbai remains Maharashtra's hotspot with 899 total cases so far. The city saw a jump in infections this May and June.
On a positive note, there haven't been any new COVID-19 deaths since Tuesday.

Good news: 1,695 people have recovered statewide.
While there have been 31 deaths—mostly among patients with other health issues—no new fatalities were reported recently.
