'Band Baaja Gang' steals ₹51L jewelry from Karnataka wedding
A group called the "Band Baaja Gang" pulled off a clever jewelry heist during a wedding in Davanagere, Karnataka.
While everyone was busy cheering for a kid's dance, they quietly stole gold worth ₹51 lakh from a guest named Padmavathi—talk about sneaky timing.
Police go undercover to crack the case
Luckily, the theft was caught on video by accident. Using CCTV and some smart detective work, police tracked down suspects Ran Verma and Vineet all the way to Madhya Pradesh.
The team spent 15 days undercover in the suspects' village, blending in to gather clues without tipping anyone off.
Their efforts paid off: both men were arrested and the stolen jewelry was recovered.
SP Uma Prashanth praised her team's dedication. The case serves as a reminder to stay alert at big events like weddings.
