Bengaluru flooded after overnight rain; traffic jams reported
Bengaluru woke up to flooded streets and major traffic jams on Saturday after heavy overnight rain hit several neighborhoods.
Areas like Rainbow Layout, Pioneer Lake Residency, Anekal, and key stretches like Neeladri Nagar, Indiranagar, HSR Layout, and the Outer Ring Road were especially affected, with cars navigating knee-deep water.
More rain predicted for city
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said there haven't been any major incidents so far, though a tree did fall on parked vehicles in Basaveshwaranagar—thankfully, no injuries.
The weather department is predicting more rain and gusty winds for Bengaluru, with temperatures between 20°C and 29°C.
IMD data shows the city saw up to 67mm of rain in just one day, and nearby districts like Kolar and Mysuru are also seeing heavy showers.
