Bengaluru police's massive ₹160cr drug bust: Over 1,500 arrested

India

Bengaluru police just pulled off a record drug bust in recent times—seizing narcotics worth ₹160 crore in 2025.
They registered 1,078 cases and arrested 1,543 people, including 52 foreigners.
The total haul? An eye-popping 1,446.75kg of both synthetic and organic drugs.

How they did it: Smart policing and teamwork

The Central Crime Branch led the charge, cracking down on syndicates and seizing ₹120.14 crore worth of contraband in just 61 major cases.
Police also worked with immigration officials to deport over 300 foreign nationals for visa violations.
By tracking financial trails and teaming up with national agencies, they managed to disrupt the city's drug networks in a big way.
