Bengaluru school receives bomb threat email, police investigate
Clarence School in Bengaluru got a scary email on Thursday morning saying, "Bomb planted in your school."
The school quickly called the police, who rushed over with a bomb squad and searched the premises. Thankfully, nothing dangerous was found.
Earlier that day, Kempegowda International Airport also received a fake bomb threat that turned out to be false after checks.
Similar hoax emails sent to other schools too
This isn't an isolated case. Several schools across Bengaluru and even some in Hassan and Udupi districts have received similar hoax emails lately.
In just the last two years, Karnataka has seen 169 fake bomb threats—133 of those from Bengaluru alone.
Police are tracking down where these emails are coming from and have stepped up security at sensitive spots while they investigate.
