Bihar approves subsidy for Sindhu River pilgrimages in Ladakh
India
Bihar just approved a new scheme to make visiting the Sindhu (Indus) River in Ladakh a bit easier on your wallet.
If you are up for a spiritual trip, the government will help cover your travel costs: this move is all about encouraging more locals to connect with the river's cultural roots.
Bihar residents 18+ eligible for reimbursements
If you are a permanent Bihar resident aged 18 or older, you can get back half of your travel expenses, up to ₹20,000.
Only 100 people will be picked each year, and reimbursements happen after you finish the pilgrimage.
The Tourism Department will soon share details on how to apply and what documents you will need.
