
Bihar gets 7 new trains, including 3 Amrit Bharat Express
What's the story
The Indian Railways has launched seven new trains in Bihar on Monday. The list includes three Amrit Bharat Express trains that link the state with locations across India. The new services aim to enhance connectivity across the state and boost economic growth. All seven trains will be operated and maintained by the East Central Railway (ECR) zone.

Four trains to operate within Bihar
Of the seven new trains, four will operate within Bihar, connecting major cities and towns. The other three Amrit Bharat Express trains will run on longer routes, connecting Bihar with other states. The new services are expected to provide "affordable and convenient travel option for low and middle-income families," according to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Vaishnaw and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary flagged off the new trains from Patna Junction. Vaishnaw gave the symbolic green flag through video conferencing. On Sunday, he announced the launch on X, saying, "Starting from tomorrow, 3 new Amrit Bharat Express trains will begin operations." Notably, the launch comes when dates for the Bihar Assembly elections are likely to be finalized.

The new trains include the Muzaffarpur-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, Darbhanga-Madar Amrit Bharat Express, Chhapra-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express, Danapur-Jhajha Fast Passenger, Patna-Buxar Fast Passenger, Patna-Nawada DEMU Passenger, and Patna-Islampur DEMU Passenger.
