Car rolled off cliff near Dhara waterfall killing mother, infant
A heartbreaking accident in Himachal Pradesh took the lives of a woman and her 11-month-old son on June 17.
Their car rolled off a cliff near Dhara Waterfall, just outside Koksar, while the family was enjoying a trip from Manali to Rohtang Pass.
Police say Tanu's husband, Deepak Kumar Singh, forgot to set the handbrake, causing the vehicle to tumble down 250 to 300 meters.
Deepak booked for forgetting handbrake
Tanu was feeding her baby in the car while Deepak and other relatives were outside taking photos.
Locals rushed to help but couldn't save them; both were declared dead at the hospital.
The shock was so intense that Tanu's mother fainted and needed medical care herself.
A case was registered against Deepak after he forgot to engage the handbrake.
The family had just reunited days before this trip, making their loss even harder as they returned home in grief after sending the bodies back for last rites.
