Economics paper leak: Crime branch arrests 3 from Himachal Pradesh

In a major development in the leak of Class 12th Economics Paper of CBSE, the Crime Branch has arrested three from Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. A teacher, a clerk and support staff were among the arrested. The Delhi Police will be briefing the media at 3:15 PM on Saturday to talk about the major breakthrough in this case.

After panic grips students, probe launched by SIT

The investigation began on March 28. Police said the hand-written paper was circulated on WhatsApp, and since the messages are end-to-end encrypted, tracing the source was difficult. The firsts arrests happened from Jharkhand's Chatra district on March 31. Two directors of private coaching centres were held. A senior official had said the leak either happened when papers were in the board's custody or bank's.

How students took to street against CBSE paper leak

The re-test for Economics of Class XII students made for numerous protests by students. They blamed CBSE for acting irresponsibly. There were rumors that a Maths re-test for Class X students will also happen, but the HRD ministry decided against it later. The ministry also advised students and parents to not fall for fake news about the leak of a Political Science paper.

After huge setback, know what the HRD plans next

Reportedly, the leaked papers were handwritten. To combat a repetition of such incident, the HRD has set up a 'high-powered committee'. The panel will submit a report on May 31 and suggest technological ways to make a secure system for conducting examinations.
